Overview

Keypath Education is supporting Wilkes University's search for qualified online faculty for their Graduate Nursing Programs.

 

We are inviting applicants for Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) teaching positions in the Passan School of Nursing Graduate Nursing Program. The Passan School of Nursing at Wilkes University prepares Nurse Practitioners for providing direct patient care of health promotion, health protection, disease prevention, and treatment.  

 

The successful candidate is responsible for teaching online PMHNP clinical and didactic courses. The ideal candidate is a board-certified PMHNP professional who has a minimum of 1 year in clinical practice, preceptor experience in a nurse practitioner role, online academic teaching experience in graduate nursing, and interest in mentoring students in the role of nurse practitioner.  

Responsibilities

Key duties include: 

  1. Teach online courses for Graduate Nursing, with emphasis on PMHNP courses. 
  2. Provide subject matter expertise to support the PMHNP courses, ensuring that industry standards are embedded in courses and that student learning outcomes are achieved. 
  3. Apply PSON graduate nursing policies in the online classroom as outlined during orientation. 
  4. Support student learning and development through academic rigor, coaching, and mentoring efforts. 
  5. Provide prompt and meaningful feedback to students as per PSON academic policy in a fair, objective, and consistent manner, using established rubrics and clear grading criteria.  
  6. Submit assignment and course grades by imparted timelines.  
  7. Complete the required online faculty orientation prior to the initial teaching assignment.  
  8. Collaborate effectively with graduate nursing faculty and staff in the PSON for ensuring quality course and program outcomes. 
  9. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethics of the academic process in the online classroom. 

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications: 

  1. Unencumbered RN and CRNP licenses in Pennsylvania (preferred) or state of residence (obtaining PA RN licensure will be required)  
  2. MSN, DNP, or post graduate/ APRN certificate with a concentration as a PMHNP with national board certification required as a PMHNP-BC  
  3. A minimum of 1 year of successful online teaching experience for an accredited university, preferably in nursing at the graduate level  
  4. A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience; 3 years preferred  
  5. Proven ability to engage students in active learning to meet required course and program outcomes  
  6. Experience with learning management systems (LMSs); D2L/Brightspace preferred
