The opportunity


In this newly created role, the SEO Specialist will be responsible for the Search Engine Optimisation of Partner University websites to deliver high-converting student inquiries. Duties include identifying and executing both the on and off-page strategy, traffic/inquiry forecasting, budget management and performance analysis of the website. The SEO Specialist will further be responsible for auditing University Partner site performance and make recommendations to meet or exceed inquiry objectives.


This will be achieved by

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager to define and execute SEO strategies for University Partner websites
  • Continually identifying new opportunities to grow organic website traffic, managing SEO budget and forecast monthly traffic and inquiry volumes
  • Advising and implementing all on-site and technical optimisations to include meta tags, content optimisation, site architecture, schema, sitemaps, load speeds and URL paths
  • Working closely with the Content Team to steer content strategy and production and leverage social media channels in driving traffic and social signals
  • Identifying and contact websites that provide backlinking opportunities as well as managing content amplification channels
  • Performing regular research and analysis to include keyword research, audience insights, technical audits, content reviews, etc.
  • Project managing website improvements, and problem solve issues, providing recommendations to improve CRO, UX and customer journey
  • Managing all third parties engaged in supporting SEO initiatives


Success in this role comes down to a few key elements

  • Tertiary qualification in related field or higher
  • Demonstrated experience in a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Specialist role, proven ability to forecast and project traffic volume
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, Trends and Keyword Planner
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is mandatory
  • Experience with SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog
  • A strong understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with content management systems including WordPress and Drupal
  • Interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate technical issues in a concise and understandable manner
  • Proactive in acquiring and learning new skills in the evolving SEO field
  • Experience in Higher Education or highly regulated industry desirable
