    Keypath Education is seeking an HR Generalist to join us at our Schaumburg Global Headquarters.  


    As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting a mid-sized global organization, specifically its rapidly growing US and Canadian locations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, systems maintenance, policy implementation, recruitment and employment law.  The Generalist will also partner closely with the finance and accounting with respect to global payroll operations.




    • This individual will be the HR generalist and support all employees and leaders in the US and Canadian offices.  Will coordinate and develop policies and guidelines in partnership with the global HR team as well as other HR generalist duties.
    • Performs benefits administration, including change reporting, communicating benefits information to employees and benefit invoice audits.
    • Coordinate and conduct training on all HR technology, self-service portals, regulatory compliance topics and benefits as needed.
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
    • Maintains compliance with employment and benefits laws and regulations for US, Canada and the UK.
    • Answers questions and ensure compliance for all processes regarding HRIS and payroll systems.
    • Responsible for preparing and reviewing all data prior to transfer and processing of the bi-weekly, US, and Canadian payrolls and monthly UK payroll in accordance with current labor laws and company accounting standards.
    • Processes employee status changes and payroll transactions accurately and timely.
    • Manages workflow to ensure all payroll and system transactions are current.
    • Administers post payroll and ad hoc reporting activities. Oversees annual W-2 and T4 process.
    • Must understand provincial and US state tax filing requirements to ensure compliance through the payroll vendor – ADP Workforce Now. Keeps informed of current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data.
    • Responds and assists timely to any requests from internal and external auditors.
    • Helps to assess and recommend new tools, process and best practices for payroll, benefits and compensation.
    • Be able to clearly communicate and document all processes related to payroll.
    • Responsible for completing US ACA reporting requirements, 401(k) annual Non-Discrimination Testing and general insurance updates and audits.
    • Assists in the preparation in employee communications regarding benefits and merit review; specifically preparing, updating merit planning spreadsheets for executive review.
    • Participates in 401(k), RRSP match, UK pension scheme maintenance, and annual compliance tasks or audits.
    • Assists with oversight to resolve any employee questions or concerns regarding payroll, Time & Attendance, leaves of absence or benefits.
    • Assists with establishing and leading Workplace Health & Safety Committee for US and Canadian offices.
    • Supports global HR with necessary tasks related to benefits, payroll, compensation, compliance, recruitment and on-boarding as requested.
    • Completes other related duties as required or assigned.



    • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in the field of HR, Finance or Business Administration.
    • 7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, to include benefits administration.
    • 5-7 years of payroll processing and administration for multi- state locations. Global payroll experience preferred.
    • Experience with ADP Workforce Now for US and Canada preferred.
    • Must be extremely detail oriented and accurate.
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of employment and labor law; both Canadian, and US federal and state.
    • Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles for various HR processes, onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, data integrity, payroll.
    • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
    • Great analytic abilities are required.
    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel; knowledge test may be conducted.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Maintains and supports confidentiality on all HR and payroll matters.
    • Management: Ability to self-manage working within the discretion of the position, with support from the Sr. Director of HR. 
    • Demonstrated ability to influence, advise and build trust with various stakeholders.
